Design Inspo: Helmut Lang

Helmut Lang is an Austrian artist who lives and works in New York and on Long Island. Here are some of his ideas which caught my imagination:

London Fashion Weekend SS15

I visited LFWEnd again this year. I decided to go for Gold Tickets with my mother and my Auntie and we had a great time!

The day started with us travelling on the underground and I kept myself wrapped up in my big black faux fur coat - which you can purchase here from Cotton Traders.

Once we arrived the standard was amazing, I picked up my tote bag from Pringle Scotland and I was very inspired by many of the designs on show, here's a few of my personal favourites from the catwalks:-

^ Trend Show, Floral (Pret a Porter)
I really like the clashes of greens, pinks and purples and the bold pattern design

^ Trend Show, Metallics (Pret a Porter)
It's difficult to get the full effect from a photograph but the way in which this dress shimmered was like nothing else I've seen before. The design initially looked plain and simple but once the shimmer effect hit you it became outstanding.

^ Trend Show, Metallics (Pret a Porter)
These skinny trousers would look great on a night-out.

^ Trend Show, Monochrome (Pret a Porter)
This makes for a very interesting design piece, I like how it pushes the boundaries with the white front giving off an illusion that the model is partially naked.

^ Lace piece
As soon as I saw this I fell in love with it. It's such a pretty piece and both the swirled straps and two-piece bodice alongside the shorter skirt style are all details which make this stand out for me.

^ Designer, Halston Heritage
This was the only designer catwalk I chose to see. I recently noticed this designer's work and became drawn to it. This dress in particular is a great example. Why wear an ordinary plain dress when you can have a statement piece with a graduation in shade such as this. It reminds me of Art lessons!

There was so much more I did during the day including purchasing a beautiful dress from the catwalk store and some jewellery from a much loved place of mine - MYFLASHTRASH. Also take a look at PumPumSocks, they approached me during the weekend and they do some gorgeous frilly socks (the ones which Lana Del Rey wears) and check out the outnet.com, but I'm sure you may well know they exist anyway.

I drank some Prosecco only a week after a Prosecco-filled Hen Weekend in Liverpool! It actually caused me to fall over in such a way that I seemed to do the splits in heels in the Guy Bourdin: Image Maker exhibition which was both embarrassing and hilarious all at once. I definitely recommend the weekend to anyone, it gets better every year...

Monochrome Moment

I've currently really got into monochrome. The majority of a lot of people's wardrobes is black but why should we complain? Teaming it with white gives a fresh, slick appeal which I'm personally fond of. I particularly like patterns and Moschino do it best. For a more affordable option try Topshop's 'Make It In Monochrome'.
